- Acid Test
- A self assessment tool from Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber. It
will assess the health of your organisation, focusing attention on strengths and areas for development. You will need a minimum of 2 years financial accounts and about 30 minutes of your time to carry out the test and you need to register to use the tool.

- Charity Commission
- The Charity Commission for England and Wales is established by law as the regulator and registrar of charities in England and Wales. A range of publications and guidance are available and you can search the register of charities online.
- Community Foundations Network
- Community Foundations are grant making charities located across the UK. They manage funds donated by individuals and organisations and target grants that make a genuine difference to the lives of local people. You can find your local Community Foundation through this site.
- Development Trusts Association
- The DTA is a network of community practitioners. It aims to help people set up development trusts, and help existing trusts learn from each other and work effectively.

- The Directory of Social Change (DSC) aims to promote an independent sector at the heart of social change. - Smaller grants for local communities. There are different schemes in each of the four countries in the UK which you can access from this site. Currently Awards for All England is a joint Lottery grants programme supported by Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England.
